This house in Kings Langley was large to start with but lacked big, social family spaces and enough bedrooms for a growing family.
The clients’ directions were that the new spaces be big, bright and contemporary and to make the most of the beautiful surrounding views.
The rear extension was given a vaulted, pitched roof in order to maximise the feeling of space. Large bi-folding doors with a triangular window above and several rooflights allow sunlight to stream in and give views out to large trees to the back.
A large master bedroom and en-suite was accommodated in the roofspace, accessed by a stair housed in a front dormer which has been clad in lead.
